You Are What You Think

When was the last time you thought about your thoughts? Over the last two years, everyone of us has been inundated with a barrage of opinions, reports, ideals and philosophies on political, societal and relational issues that we may have never encountered in the past. We have been force fed “truths” that were in fact just opinion, and bore little to no truth at all. The consequence of all this is an increase in anxiety, confusion and cynicism. I believe every person should take a moment to reflect on what is in their head.

Your thoughts will define your life. You cannot take them for granted. From your predominant thoughts will come your belief systems, your moods and even your choices. As your thoughts go, so to will your life. Maybe your mind is out of control with negativity and anxiety. Maybe you have grown dark in your thinking. Here’s the good news- it’s your mind, you can put it where you want it. Your thoughts do not have to be out of control. In fact, you mind can, and needs to be disciplined to be used at your disposal to build a healthy and positive mentality.

Too often, we allow thoughts to permeate and rest in our thinking that are contrary to who we want to become, who God says we are as His children, and the life we are trying to build. Thinking about your thoughts allows you to identify those contradictory mindsets and begin to change them. You must discipline yourself to confront wrong thinking and believing. I taught myself years ago to win the argument in my head. Yes, you need to start arguing with yourself. Enough arguing with people on social media or your spouse. How about you start winning the argument in your mind against thoughts that are causing you to overstress, panic and live in fear and insecurity. You are God’s masterpiece. You are strong. You are smart. You are forgiven. You are awesome. You are more than a conqueror. You are called to live a life of peace. Don’t let any bad thinking tell you otherwise.

Based on the book, the podcast brings The Missing Peace to life through real and raw conversations with the author. Season one walks individuals through the steps they need to take to re-interject what’s missing in their lives; everyone’s transformation journey begins with a choice.
